Woo hoo it’s March! For those of you who don’t know it’s National Crafting Month (and Women’s History month)! For the next 30 days I will be crafting, and blogging about it. I will show you my inspiration (with links to the original) and my version, changes etc. Happy crafting!
Jersey Knit Bracelets
Inspiration via Vanessa Christenson of
V and Co <—-check out the tutorial. I used the 2-finger approach.
I thought this was a great use of old t-shirts, but in my case I used pieces from a jersey knit sheet–never used–but had sitting around “collecting dust”.
Similar to the tutorial above, using 2-fingers, I “braided” the strands together. But, because of the fabric I used ( which was a bit less stretchy) I had to add a few pieces to make it longer.
After finishing the “braid,” I wrapped around my wrist twice before tieing the ends together. Then I added a “K” pin ( you can use a brooch or any other type pin), ensuring it went through both layers of the bracelet. It’s not as perfect as the one from V and CO., but I think my “flaws give it character,” or at least that’s what I’m going to tell myself. There it is, a jersey knit bracelet, personalized for me! ( K stands for Kimberly)
