Woo hoo it’s March! For those of you who don’t know it’s National Craft Month (and Women’s History month)! For the next 30 days I will be crafting, and blogging about it. I will show you my inspiration (with links to the original) and my version, changes etc. Happy crafting!
There’s probably a million (exaggerating!) tutorials for the T-shirt scarf. Check out the My Blessed Life blog includes 10 different t-shirt scarfs and tutorials. I also really like the scarf tutorial by Mr. Kate, so check that one out too. And when in doubt scan Pinterest’s DIY section, there’s bound to be a t-shirt scarf tutorial on there.
I made a very simple t-shirt scarf. Here’s what I did:
1. Cut off the bottom hem
2. starting at the bottom, cut 1 inch strips until you reach the arm pits of the shirt
3. Stretch the strips as much as possible without ripping.
4. gather the strips together and tie with a left over piece of the t-shirt
5. (optional) add a pin to cover the gathering ( I did not do this)
